Men of all
ages, from all walks of life, who love to sing... Fans and friends who thrill to
the sound of four-part harmony... The Barbershop Harmony Society extends the
opportunity to participate in this great hobby world-wide. Take a few minutes
and explore the Englewood Chapter and its chorus, The
Lemon Bay Chord Company!
The Lemon Bay Chord Company was formed in the fall of 1993. A little more than a
year later, the Chorus gave its first annual show and began building its large
and supportive audience. Since then, the Chorus has presented a show each Spring
at the Lemon Bay High School Center for the Performing Arts. This years
show was "Erin Go Bragh" a spirited show using traditional Irish
music. Some of the favorites were "My Wild Irish Rose", "When
Irish Eyes are Smiling", "Irish Blessing" and many others. A good
time was had by all who attended.
The Chorus also makes frequent appearances for charitable and community
functions. They have sung at many area retirement centers and plan to sing at
several area churches in the near future.
The Englewood Barbershoppers are known for their charitable contributions. Since
1999, the Chapter has donated more than $56,000 to local and national charities.
Over half of this amount was given to graduates of local highs schools in the
form of scholarships to assist them in their academic studies.
Rehearsals are held at 6:30 each Thursday evening at the Christ Lutheran Church,
701 State Road 776 (Indiana Avenue) in Englewood, Florida. We welcome guests at
every rehearsal, call Chuck Hofelich 480-9694.
MISSION: The Lemon Bay Chord Company brings men together in harmony and fellowship to enrich our lives and the lives of our community.
